A specifically designed protective capsule is included in the price of the product.

The obverse side of the coin features a portrait of the late Queen Elizabeth II, and the reverse is decorated with a sugar maple leaf, a symbol of Canada. There is a security tag etched with laser technology on the reverse side, and light-refracting backgrounds have been placed on both sides to help identify the authenticity of the gold coin.

The Maple Leaf coin is investment grade gold and is therefore exempt from VAT.
