The American Eagle coin combines the greatest symbols of the freedom of the United States. On the obverse side, attention is captured by Lady Liberty, who looks straight ahead, holding a flaming torch and an olive branch in her hands. On the reverse side is the national bird of the United States, the bald eagle, whose penetrating gaze is strikingly reproduced, especially in the new 2022 design version.

The American Eagle coins are traditionally 22-karat due to the copper and silver mixed into them, which is intended to improve the durability of the coins. Regardless, the coin contains a quarter of a troy ounce of pure gold. The edges of the coin are grooved to make it easier to identify its authenticity.

The American Eagle coin is investment grade gold and is therefore exempt from VAT.
